Privacy Policy
TitanAlert is committed to transparency about the data we collect and how we use it. This policy applies when you use our website, search our database, or report a charge.
Last updated: March 10, 2026
Information We Collect
You can search and browse our database without creating an account or providing personal information. We do not collect personally identifiable information from casual visitors.
When you report a charge, we collect:
- Exact descriptor (as it appears on your statement)
- Reported amount, scam type, and description of the charge
- Optional: bank name, charge date, resolution status, and your email
Your email is optional and used only if we need to follow up on your submission. We do not sell or share your email with third parties for marketing.
Technical Data
When you submit a report, we use your IP address only for rate limiting: we hash it (SHA-256) and store the hash to prevent duplicate submissions from the same source within 24 hours. We do not store your raw IP address or use it to identify you.
Cookies and Tracking
TitanAlert does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party tracking for marketing. We do not currently use any non-essential cookies. Session or strictly necessary cookies may be used by our hosting provider for security and performance; we do not use them to track you across sites.
Storage and Third Parties
Submission data is stored in Supabase, a US-hosted database provider that acts as our data processor. Our site is hosted on Vercel. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Data you submit may be merged into our public descriptor database (e.g., descriptor name and report count). Optional fields like your email are not published.
Data Retention
We retain submission data to maintain database integrity and support dispute research. Hashed IP data is used only for a 24-hour duplicate check window. If you want your submission or associated data removed, contact us and we will process requests in line with applicable law.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data you have provided. To do so, use our Report a Charge form and note that your message is a privacy request (e.g., "Privacy: delete my submission"). We will respond in a reasonable time.
If you are in a jurisdiction with specific privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), we will honor your rights under those laws to the extent they apply.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of TitanAlert after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
