DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A Californian reports encountering a crypto education class advertised on Facebook. After signing up for the class, the resident was then added to a WhatsApp group by the name of XW8-Angel Dreamer Wealth Society Network. An associate, Jones, helped the victim set up an account on the crypto asset platform ipye.com and told the victim she would deposit $700 of her own funds into the account. Jones subsequently walked the victim through how to make trades on the platform using the $700.
