DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A California resident reports encountering a cryptocurrency exchange operating on the website provestics.com which advertised online foreign exchange trading and crypto asset trading, promising high returns on investment. The resident was instructed to purchase crypto assets and transfer the funds onto the exchange. The investor believed their account was earning a profit through trading. But when they tried to withdraw funds, the website wouldn’t allow it. The website is no longer operational.
