DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A California resident reports being contacted by an individual on Discord who after a time, brought up the topic of investing in crypto assets. The Discord friend provided a link to a website at marketspacebch.com and instructed the victim to open an account there. Following the Discord friend’s instructions, the victim deposited money on the website, traded crypto assets, and believed they were making profits. At one point, the victim's account balance reached more than $80,000. Then the website suddenly went offline, claiming there was a system upgrade. The Discord friend provided the victim
