DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A California resident reports on the crypto asset exchange at leedsbrokerages.com they learned about from a trusted TikTok video creator. Representatives from the exchange guided the resident through setting up a crypto wallet and transferring it to the exchange. The resident believed their account balance was steadily growing. But when they tried to withdraw funds, exchange representatives demanded additional payments. To date, the resident has not recovered any of the funds invested in the exchange. The website is no longer operational. All told the victim lost approximately $30,000.
