DFPI — Victim narrative (California)

A California resident reports being contacted via text message by a woman. At some point, the woman said she had a relative who could help the resident invest in crypto assets and gold options on the website gold-start.com. Following the woman’s advice, the victim opened an account on the platform and began investing cryptocurrency.
