DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A Californian reports they were referred to a crypto site called effortsity.com by a Telegram channel called “Yetta Cox Investments”. Effortsity claimed that customers would be able to deposit cryptocurrency with the site, and that Effortsity would trade the crypto on the customer’s behalf. Effortsity noted that its trades would not be transparent to customers.The victim deposited about $1,000 worth of crypto assets into “investment pools” on Effortsity. After each deposit, the site told the victim they needed to deposit more and more funds to execute the trades. In total, the victim deposited
