DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A Californian reports watching a TikTok video about a crypto website called drafthex.com. The video promised that if a user created an account on Draft Hex and enter a promo code, they would receive a third of a Bitcoin as a sign-up bonus. The consumer did as the video instructed and indeed, it appeared that a third of a Bitcoin appeared in their Draft Hex account. At that time, it was worth about $12,000. However, the victim was never able to withdraw any funds, and the site is now down.
