DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A California resident reports that an individual they met online showed them how to invest on the crypto asset trading platform operating at dconchain.net. The resident did so, but when they tried to withdraw some funds, their request was denied and the platform demanded they pay a tax. The resident paid, but the platform claimed it had placed them in a queue of 83,000 people and to bypass the queue, they would have to pay an additional $8,000. The resident did not pay and has been unable to recover their funds from the platform. The website is no longer operational.
