DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A California resident reports that they began using a crypto asset exchange that was operating under the domain name coinsbitfx.com. Coins Bit FX claimed to be registered with the National Futures Association to convince users of its legitimacy. At some point, the resident believed their account had grown in value to $35,134. But when they tried to withdraw funds from their account, the victim was told by the exchange that the transaction was “under review.” The resident has not since been able to contact anyone at the website and cannot access the invested funds.
