DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A Californian reported meeting “Anna” on an online dating site. After developing a rapport, Anna eventually brought up the subject of investing in crypto. Anna referred the victim to a platform called Coinegg, claiming it offered good returns. Per Anna’s suggestion, the victim made three wire transfers of $3,000, $5,000, and $11,400 to a legitimate exchange, converted into crypto assets, and transferred them to Coinegg.
