DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A California resident reports they were contacted through LinkedIn about a job opportunity. The LinkedIn member connected the victim with a “hiring manager” named “Tu” who communicated with the victim on WhatsApp and then asked to move the conversation to Signal. Over time, the conversation shifted from the job opportunity to investing in crypto assets. Tu told the victim that he could help them trade crypto on a platform called chainforce.cc. With Tu’s help, the victim opened an account on the platform and began trading. But when the victim tried to withdraw their funds, the platform demanded
