DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A California resident reports that when attempting to withdraw 150,000 USDCof their own funds from a crypto asset trading platformat btopchains.com, the request was rejected and their account was frozen. The platform then demanded an advance fee equal to 20% of the resident’s total assets to restore their account access. The platform’s domain name was then changed to bkchaintops.com.The resident has not been able to recover any of their funds. The websites are no longer in operation.
