DFPI — Victim narrative (California)
A California resident reports being approached by an individual through WhatsApp and presented with the opportunity to invest money to earn profits on the crypto asset trading platform Bitnice, located at bit-nice.com. Following the stranger’s instructions, the victim opened an account on the platform and deposited crypto assets onto the platform. After a while, the victim’s account showed they had made profits. But when they attempted to withdraw funds, the platform demanded the victim to pay money first. To date, the victim has not been able to recover any of their funds from the platform. T
